Green Bean Bundles Bacon (Printable Version)

Fresh beans meet crispy bacon and a caramelized glaze for a savory-sweet side that impresses at any gathering.

# Everything You’ll Need:

→ Vegetables

01 - 1 pound fresh French green beans, ends trimmed

→ Meat

02 - 8 slices thick-cut bacon, cut in half

→ Glaze

03 - 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
04 - 2 tablespoons brown sugar, packed
05 - 2 teaspoons Dan-O's Cheesoning or substitute with 1 teaspoon grated parmesan, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, and 1/2 teaspoon seasoning salt
06 - 1 tablespoon soy sauce or reduced sodium soy sauce

# Steps to Cook:

01 - Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Add green beans and cook until bright green and just tender, about 5 to 6 minutes. Immediately transfer beans to a bowl of ice water to halt cooking and preserve color.
02 - In a small mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter, brown sugar, soy sauce, and Dan-O's Cheesoning or substitute blend until a smooth, thick paste forms.
03 - Drain and thoroughly pat green beans dry. Arrange 5 to 7 beans per bundle. Wrap each bundle with half a slice of bacon, positioning the seam side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet or oven-safe skillet. Repeat to form all bundles.
04 - Sprinkle additional Dan-O's Cheesoning or substitute seasoning lightly over the bundles if desired. Brush or spoon a generous amount of the brown sugar glaze over each bundle, ensuring tops are fully coated.
05 - Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C). Roast bundles for 30 to 35 minutes, or until bacon is golden and crisp and beans are tender yet hold their shape. Baste with any pan drippings before serving.

# Extra Suggestions:

01 - For optimal color and texture, always shock blanched green beans in ice water immediately after boiling.
02 - Bundles can be prepped and assembled up to a day in advance; glaze and bake just before serving.
03 - If keeping gluten free, substitute soy sauce with tamari.
