Scoop and roll the mixture into 1-inch balls, then shape each one slightly into an apple form with a rounded top and flattened base.

Refrigerate shaped balls for 20 to 30 minutes until firm.

Melt red candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl using 30-second intervals, stirring between. Add coconut oil if desired for a smoother texture.

Dip each chilled ball into the melted candy, coating evenly. Place back on the parchment-lined tray. While coating is still wet, insert a pretzel piece at the top as the stem and press a green M&M or candy leaf beside it to resemble a leaf.
