This dish features a perfectly seasoned pork chop, seared to perfection and finished with a buttery glaze. It’s a great way to enjoy this restaurant classic without leaving the comfort of your own home.
Ingredients
For the Pork Chops:
- 2 bone-in pork chops (1-inch thick)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme (optional)
For the Butter Glaze:
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
Instructions
Pat the pork chops dry with a paper towel. Rub both sides of each chop with olive oil, then season generously with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and dried thyme (if using). Let the pork chops rest for 10 minutes to allow the seasoning to absorb.
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the olive oil to the pan. Once hot, place the pork chops in the skillet and sear for 3-4 minutes per side, or until a golden-brown crust forms and the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C). Adjust the heat if necessary to prevent burning.
While the pork chops are cooking, melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Stir in the lemon juice and cook for another 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat.
Once the pork chops are done, remove them from the skillet and place them on a serving plate. Pour the butter glaze over the top of each pork chop. Garnish with fresh parsley for a pop of color and freshness.
Notes
- Boneless Chops – If you prefer boneless pork chops, simply follow the same instructions but cook for a slightly shorter time.
- Grill Option – For a smoky flavor, you can grill the pork chops instead of searing them in a pan.
- Spicy Kick – Add a pinch of cayenne pepper or crushed red pepper flakes to the seasoning mix for some heat.
- Herb Variations – Experiment with other herbs like rosemary, oregano, or sage for different flavor profiles.
