14 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
15 - 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

# Steps to Cook:

01 - Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season the brisket evenly with salt, black pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Sear the brisket for 4 to 5 minutes per side until it develops a deep brown crust. Remove and set aside.
02 - Place sliced onions and minced garlic in the bottom of the slow cooker. Position the seared brisket on top of the aromatics.
03 - In a separate bowl, mix beef broth, barbecue sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, and cayenne pepper if using. Pour this mixture evenly over the brisket in the slow cooker.
04 - Cover and cook on low heat for 8 to 10 hours or on high heat for 4 to 6 hours, until the brisket is fork-tender and easily shreds.
05 - Remove the brisket from the slow cooker and allow it to rest for 10 to 15 minutes before slicing. Serve with cooking juices and garnish with chopped parsley.
