Add olive oil to a 4–5 quart sauté pan or deep skillet over medium-high heat.

Add sliced kielbasa and diced onion. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the sausage is browned and onions are soft and translucent.

Stir in minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

Add chicken broth, diced tomatoes with juice, milk or cream, pasta, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.

Bring to a gentle simmer and cook uncovered for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender and sauce thickens slightly.

Remove from heat. Stir in half the shredded Cheddar until melted and incorporated.

Sprinkle remaining cheese on top. Cover the pan and let sit for a few minutes until the cheese melts and becomes bubbly.
