Cheesy Pizza Pockets (Printable Version)

Golden baked pockets stuffed with melty cheese, pepperoni, and flavorful sauce for a satisfying bite.

# Everything You’ll Need:

→ Dough

01 - 2 cups all-purpose flour
02 - 1 tablespoon baking powder
03 - 1 teaspoon salt
04 - 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
05 - 3/4 cup milk

→ Filling and Topping

06 - 1 cup pizza sauce
07 - 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
08 - 1/2 cup pepperoni slices
09 - 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
10 - 1 teaspoon dried oregano

# Steps to Cook:

01 - Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - In a large bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt until evenly distributed.
03 - Cut the cold, cubed butter into the flour mixture using a pastry cutter or fork until it resembles coarse crumbs.
04 - Gradually add the milk to the mixture, stirring until a soft dough forms.
05 - On a floured surface, roll the dough to 1/4-inch thickness. Use a round cutter or glass to cut out circles.
06 - Spread one tablespoon of pizza sauce on each dough circle, leaving a border. Top with mozzarella and pepperoni slices.
07 - Fold dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape. Press edges firmly and crimp with a fork to seal.
08 - Place pockets on the prepared sheet. Brush tops with beaten egg and sprinkle dried oregano.
09 - Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
10 - Allow pockets to cool slightly before serving to enhance texture and safety.

# Extra Suggestions:

01 - For a vegetarian option, omit the pepperoni. These pockets can be frozen uncooked; increase baking time if cooking from frozen.
