Cheesy Ham Toaster Sandwich (Printable Version)

Toasted sandwich with melted cheese, savory ham, and crispy bread, ready in minutes for any meal.

# Everything You’ll Need:

→ Bread

01 - 2 slices white, whole wheat, or sourdough bread

→ Meat

02 - 2 slices deli ham

→ Cheese

03 - 2 slices cheddar, Swiss, or preferred cheese

→ Condiments

04 - 1 tablespoon softened butter
05 - 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional)
06 - Salt and pepper to taste

# Steps to Cook:

01 - Evenly spread softened butter on one side of each bread slice.
02 - Flip bread slices with buttered side down. If using, spread Dijon mustard on the inside of the bread. Place one slice of cheese on each slice, then top with ham slices. Season with salt and pepper and add the second slice of cheese on top.
03 - Place the second slice of bread on top with the buttered side facing outward to form the sandwich.
04 - Toast sandwich in a toaster oven or sandwich press preheated to 375°F for 5 to 7 minutes until the bread is golden and cheese is melted.
05 - Alternatively, heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the sandwich for 3 to 4 minutes per side, pressing gently until golden brown and cheese is melted.
06 - Allow the sandwich to rest for 1 minute before slicing in half and serving warm.

# Extra Suggestions:

01 - For enhanced flavor, add tomato slices or caramelized onions. Smoked cheddar can enrich taste. Sprinkling grated cheese on the bread’s exterior before cooking increases crispiness.
