01 - Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
02 - In a large mixing bowl, combine cooked rice, cubed ham, frozen peas, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, and season with salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder. Mix thoroughly, reserving one cup of shredded cheddar cheese for topping.
03 - Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish and evenly sprinkle the reserved one cup of cheddar cheese on top.
04 - Bake uncovered for approximately 30 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbling and the cheese is melted and golden brown.
05 - Allow the casserole to rest for 5 minutes before serving.

# Extra Suggestions:

01 - Use instant rice and precooked ham to reduce preparation time. Frozen peas maintain texture well, but other vegetables may be used as substitutes. For added texture, sprinkle breadcrumbs before baking. A small amount of hot sauce can enhance flavor without increasing spiciness. This dish can be prepared ahead and frozen for convenience.
