Apple Cranberry Holiday Pie (Printable Version)

Delicious pie blending tart cranberries and sweet apples, ideal for holidays and special occasions.

# Everything You’ll Need:

→ Fruit Filling

01 - 2 cups fresh cranberries
02 - 3 cups diced apples
03 - 1 tablespoon lemon juice

→ Dry Ingredients

04 - 1 cup granulated sugar
05 - 1/4 cup cornstarch
06 - 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
07 - 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

→ Crust and Topping

08 - 2 pie crusts (store-bought or homemade)
09 - 1 large egg (beaten for egg wash)

# Steps to Cook:

01 - Preheat the oven to 375°F. In a large bowl, combine cranberries, diced apples, sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Stir until ingredients are evenly mixed.
02 - Roll out one pie crust and fit it into a 9-inch pie dish, ensuring it covers the bottom and sides evenly.
03 - Pour the fruit mixture evenly into the prepared bottom crust.
04 - Roll out the second pie crust and place it over the filling. Trim excess dough and crimp edges securely to seal the pie.
05 - Cut slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape. Brush the surface with beaten egg to achieve a glossy, golden finish.
06 - Bake the pie in the preheated oven for 45 to 50 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
07 - Remove the pie from the oven and allow it to cool completely before slicing to ensure the filling sets properly.

# Extra Suggestions:

01 - Use firm apples such as Granny Smith for optimal texture. If using frozen cranberries, thaw and drain excess liquid before mixing. Serve with vanilla ice cream for added indulgence.
